Before signing up for this service, there are a few rules
with the Columbus Board of Realtors that must be followed
before putting an IDX solution on your web site.

Participating Brokers that download the MLS listing database and then place
that inventory on their Internet site hereby agree to conform to the following
standards and guidelines:
1. Site Appearance and Control: The site must be under the host Broker's
control and appear as the company's web site.
2. General Information: The information that appears on the web site, in regards
to other brokers' listings, shall contain no more information
than is contained on the Columbus Board of Realtors' Internet
site at Realtor.com The Broker's web site must include the
entire database for each listing category. For example, if
the Broker's web site has residential listings, it must contain
all the permitted residential listings in the MLS database
and if it has commercial listings, it must contain all the
permitted commercial listings in the MLS database.
3. Displayed Information: The Broker's web site must identify all listings
other than the Broker's own listings, with the name and phone number of both the
listing Broker or Brokerage and listing agent. When displayed, the listing
company name and listing agent name shall be the same style and size type as
that of the host broker's name on their web site.
4. Listings Not to Be Shown: Written approval has been granted to the CBR/MLS
by each MLS Participant Broker to allow their listing data to be placed on CBR
members' Internet sites. However, each Participant Broker may have their
listings removed from any such Internet site by contacting the MLS in writing
and requesting their listings not be downloaded to the unapproved site(s).
Written approval extends only to Broker's local Internet sites. Advance
notification to members must be given by CBR/MLS and approval granted by MLS
Participant Brokers if the MLS database is to be placed on any national Internet
site. Options for MLS Broker participation on Internet sites are as
follows:

5. Site Scraping: The ISP (Internet service provider) must commit to do
everything practical to prevent other sites from scraping the Broker's site. The
Broker will take responsible action to prevent unapproved use of CBR/MLS
information. Unapproved use of CBR/MLS information, if not discontinued, will
result in termination of access to the database.
6. Updating: The listing information must be kept current by updating the
Internet site at least weekly and such update schedule shall be furnished to
CBR/MLS.
7. Disclaimer: Appearing on the Internet site shall be a disclaimer regarding
liability for inaccuracies of data.
8. Disclosure: A Broker must promptly disclose to the CBR/MLS their intent to
place the CBR/MLS database on their web site. CBR/MLS will then promptly
disclose to all MLS Participants all the Internet sites that display the MLS
listing database.
